Dr. Nawaz has received most of his training in Texas. He graduated from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center after completing his Internal Medicine residency training. His sub-specialty training in invasive cardiology was from Texas A&M University . Dr. Nawaz has also completed advance fellowship training in the field of Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology from one of the premiere cardiac transplant institutions in the Midwest, the University of Wisconsin . He will be one of the few UNOS certified cardiac transplant physician in North Texas. His training not only adds another segment to our invasive cardiology team, but also adds a new dimension to our practice utilizing the most advanced modalities to care for chronic and critically ill patients with congestive heart failure. We are establishing a state of the art Heart Failure Clinic on our premises offering the latest care for this group of patients and also providing inpatient heart failure consultations. Dr.Nawaz has been widely published in the premiere cardiology journals, presenting in national cardiology meetings and has received the National Research Award (NRSA), an NIH sponsored training grant in Translational Cardiovascular Research.
